South America's move to the right continues. Flavio Bolsonaro, eldest son of Brazil's former president Jair Bolsonaro, has defied predictions to win the first round of the presidential election. He secured 2% more of the vote than the 80-year-old, left-wing incumbent Lula da Silva.
