A teenager’s attempt to escape from police was foiled by a collapsing fence in a Hot Fuzz-style blunder. Footage shared by Cleveland Police shows two males with a stolen bike engaging in a suspected drug deal on Tuesday (21 July) in Middlesborough. After a plain-clothes officer moved in to intercept them, the pair fled the scene after failing to start the bike. Running to a nearby property, one of the teenagers attempted to scale a fence - which quickly buckled and fell on top of both. “Bad day for you,” an officer from Middlesbrough’s Community Action Team and the Task Force could be saying as they caught up with one of the suspects. A 14-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of offences including possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and theft of a motor vehicle.
