A man who threw his victim off a 12ft wall onto a busy road below has been jailed for six years. Dashcam footage of a passing car shows Daniel Meredith, 36, of Queen Street in Torquay, pushing his victim over the railings of a raised pedestrian walkway in Torquay on 28 October 2025. The victim fell headfirst onto the road below, narrowly missing an oncoming vehicle, and was left with a broken spine, broken shoulders, six broken ribs and significant bruising. Police arrived on the scene, having responded to reports of two men arguing near the bridge on Torbay Road. On Friday (17 July) Meredith appeared at Exeter Crown Court for sentencing, having been convicted at trial of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
