Sir Keir Starmer echoed the words of Henry Nowak's father to plead for unity in the wake of the 18-year-old student's death. After Vickrum Digwa, 23, was jailed for life to serve a minimum of 21 years for stabbing Henry Nowak to death, Mark Nowak stood on the steps of Southampton Crown Court on Monday (1 June) and said: “We do not want [Henry's] death to be used to create further division, hatred or tension. We want his story to help make our streets safer for everyone." It comes after violent clashes broke out in Southampton on Tuesday night near where Henry was murdered.
